"Christmas Under a Starlit Sky by Holly Martin is the second book in the A Town Called Christmas series and is every bit as wonderful as the first one. Neve Whitaker has been working to help open her brother Gabe’s new hotel on Juniper Island off the coast of Scotland. But Neve is not happy. She has broken off her relationship with actor Oakley Rey rather than hold back his career. His managing mother hasn’t helped matters either with her hurtful remarks that have caused Neve to doubt herself. Only now there is much more at stake.
Oakley arrives on the island unexpectedly to fight to get Neve back but misunderstandings block their way, Can they work through their problems as the New Year approaches? Can they find a way for Neve to be a part of Oakley’s busy acting career? What follows is an adorable, magical love story perfect for a cold winter night.
Holly Martin’s writing again provides the reader with beautiful descriptions of Jupiter Island. Her many characters all have stories of their own and seem to become the reader’s friends also. Again, I hope that Holly can find more stories on Juniper Island and can continue this magical series. I will certainly look for other books by Holly Martin.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and Bookouture with no obligation to review it. This is my honest review after reading"

- I loved it. Loved it so much, I bought the book that came before it.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and Bookouture with no obligation to review it. This is my honest review after reading - Christmas Under a Starlit Sky is the second book in Holly Martin’s Town Called Christmas series. Like the first book, Christmas Under a Cranberry Sky, it has all the festive charm that Holly is so good at evoking. It would work perfectly as a stand alone novel, however, I would definitely urge you to the read the first book as it is gorgeous.
The story picks up where the last finished with Neve’s ex-partner, Oakley, landing in Juniper Island in his helicopter and this book concentrates on the couple and whether or not they can salvage their relationship. We also get to know the assistant manager of the Stardust Lake Hotel, Adam, and follow him as he settles into life on Juniper Island.
Holly has again created rich, likeable characters (I adored Adam!) and it was lovely to see old favourites from the pervious book too. I found myself rooting for the characters and desperately hoped that everything would work out well for Neve, Oakley and Adam. You really get to know them individually as Holly ensures that she includes their histories which gave me, as the reader, an understanding and empathy for them. This works effectively in totally immersing you into their lives while reading the book.
Christmas Under a Starlit Sky had me fully absorbed from the first page. It is a great read with plenty of dramatic moments along the way as we wait to find out if love can run smoothly. The setting of the utterly gorgeous Juniper Island at the height of Christmas adds to the enjoyment of this book.
Holly Martin is the queen of festive writing in my humble opinion and I loved being back on the remote Scottish island with the Whitaker family and all the other residents. It’s festive, romantic writing at it’s best and Christmas Under a Starlit Sky is the perfect escape from the madness that can be Christmas.
Thank you to Holly Martin, Bookouture and Netgalley for the advance copy.

Yay, book two set on Juniper Island is here!!! I adored book one, here is my review [...]
This story is centred around Gabe’s sister Neve. She is the manager of the hotel and recently broke up with her boyfriend movie star Oakley Rey. Neve is surrounded by her family and gets to work at an amazing location, but she has a secret. And then Oakley shows up, the secret is revealed and the drama starts.
It’s obvious that they love each other, but they have a lot of unresolved issues and Neve’s secret adds some misunderstandings. Then there is the fact that he is a movie star and works all over the world, how can they ever be together?!
Even though they are going through a lot and don’t seem to trust each other, they are there for each other. Neve makes everything worse with a little lie, but Oakley is still there to care for her. The go through a lot in this book, it really is an emotional roller-coaster ride. I adored there intensive and passionate moments, Holly’s writing captured it all beautifully.
The book also tells the story of other characters like Adam (another hotel manager) or Luke (Neve’s other brother). I really enjoyed these different stories and how it all became one in a very wonderful way. Of course it was also lovely to read about Gabe, Pip and Wren again. They are a big and sweet family surrounded by magic, snow and Christmas. The characters are filled with warmth, love, passion and personality. Holly’s writing is gripping and full of ups and downs. She always manages to create a unique atmosphere around the characters and a wonderful setting with everything a girl dreams of.
I really hope we get to re-visit this beautiful island in the summer, I don’t want to say goodbye to the characters and the location yet!
