"Italy is a non-fiction history book written to provide information on its history starting from the early times until the world war. The book also covers traveling to Italy and some ground rules that could be helpful. I am not sure how useful or relevant that particular part was, however, altogether I think the book was a good way in providing some information about the formation of the countries history."

  • Aloha,

This is a very short book that talks about the history, culture, and some helpful travel tips. I like how this author stated something like this book is like an outline and it hard deciding which topics to include in a short novel and why this author went this way. I enjoyed this novel! I also like how it was made for everyone to understand. I have learn a lot of new things. I also liked the book cover. I plan to reread this book. All these are why I give this book five stars. I would recommend this book to all history lovers and those looking to visit Italy. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review from Lean Stone Book Club.

  • A charming little book on Italy including its history, culture and useful traveling tips. There's an overview of its most important events and people.

As a person who's been to Italy so many times visiting different areas and trying different food, if I had this book the first time my trip could have been a lot easier.

The book offers a better understanding of such a diversity of the nation that indebted the world with its art and culture influencing everybody and everything.

Recommend to everyone who wants to visit Italy for the first time.
  • This concise guide provides eager readers with a streamlined timeline of significant events and personages in the History of Italy, from earliest known times, which saw the civilization of the Etruscans. Also noted is that Italy, although a single nation, varies in terms of culture, geography, and historical events. Readers intrigued by this area's history and cultures will readily find inspiration to research further. This locale which has hosted so much of the cradles of civilization, culture, and religion, is a fascinating field of study.

  • What are the first things that pop into your mind when you think of Italy?

Rome? The Leaning Tower of Pisa? Julius Caesar? Pasta?

Let me tell you, there's more about Italy than those familiar topics. Author Emma Barese includes Italian history you may have not learned in your high school history class.

I was impressed by the information provided in Barese's book. I've been to Italy over ten years ago. Since reading this book, I want to go there again!
